oh look, it’s another brown hat

The Coronet toque I knit before we almost moved to Minnesota has seen a lot of wear this winter in New England. The Cashmerino while soft is not holding up as well as I’d like. It’s fuzzy, pilly and disheveled looking. As we move into slightly warmer Spring temps, I wanted to knit a new hat that would keep me from looking like a ragamuffin.
I picked up a couple balls of Rowan Calmer on sale a month or so back from A Good Yarn. In one evening of knitting (and using less than one ball) I cast on and finished Grumperina’s Odessa. No beads on this version, I only had purple in the stash.

It’s totally adorable on you, Caro!
That’s great, and it looks great on you! You’re lucky…I look like a total melon head in most hats.
love it!
It looks so cute!
I love Grumperina’s patterns! Her Jaywalkers are legendary. Now I have to try her hats! Odessa in chocolate reminds me of the top of a swirly chocolate ice cream cone….
Oh I just love the bead-less version of this hat!
Adorable!!
I just finished an Odessa on Friday night – in a minty green – it would go nicely with the brown!
It’s my second Odessa – I made a grey one in December.
oh I love it… you have divine tastes!
I have what I hope is enough of my Mas Acero yarn to make an Odessa to match the clapotis I just finished… but first to knit the sweater I am working on. One thing at a time (lest I get distracted and have nothing to show for it!)
Hey! Talk about instant gratification!! LOL Awesome hat.
I love your beadless version, it makes such a cute, casual hat!
I love the first photo – it really suits you!
pretty. oh, so pretty.
we miss you here in austex.
You mean, oh look, it’s a frickin adorable hat! BTW, I saw a woman wearing an Odessa at Porter Square Books the other day.
