When I used to work in Whistler, I spent a lot of time shovelling snow. Like, a LOT of time. Every day in the winter, whether it had snowed or not and most days in the summer too, if I was up on the glacier. It’s been 10 years, but apparently I still take pride in digging out properly.
I know most people can’t stand shovelling, but I like to think of it as a workout instead of a chore. Every scoop of snow moved is another sit-up I don’t have to do when I come back inside.
Something about the order of it just appeals to my organizey nature.
These obvs aren’t all from the same storm, they aren’t even at the same house, which is further evidence that I’m just a shovelling fiend.

If you’re ever looking for a REAL challenge, you could come over and help us rake the roof.
Wowzers. BTW LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog design and layout. Bloody awesome.
I too love shoveling. My building has hired someone to do it and I get antsy if they don’t come early enough. I HATE it when you get the compacted slippy bits (that are hard to remove) when people walk on it too much.
You wanna come dig my car out? Actually, it’s fine at the moment, but we’re supposed to get more snow tonight. The part I hate is that, when I dig my car out, I have to carry the shovelful of snow 8-10 feet to deposit it out of the way. That really breaks the shoveling rhythm!
