it all started with the colour Pickle

I’m beyond honoured that a few of my designer-type friends have enlisted me to take pattern photos for their self-published releases. Super fun. I find it REALLY hard to keep the secrets when I’m working on the photos, but it just means that when I’m done, I’m that much more excited about them.

Since I’m working on some secret knitting at the moment, no better time to share some of the pictures from a few of these shoots.

First up: Pickadilly by Pamela Wynne (of Flint Knits and February Lady Sweater fame)

We shot this one on Saturday afternoon at Rhinebeck. The sky was overcast and there wasn’t much sun to speak of, so it was perfect for outdoor portraits. Too much sun means harsh shadows and that’s hard to work around.

Pam has a completely stunning jawline. (Something about this one feels Rowan-esque to me)

She has a brilliant design sense,

great hair,

and she’s willing to goof around when prodded. Hee!

Pam is redonk cute

She also has a good heart because now through January 31, 2010, 50% of the price of the Pickadilly pattern will be donated to Partners in Health and Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders. No better time to grab the pattern! (Rav link)

I love the lace around the edges on Picadilly – and her hair IS absolutely perfect. (It must listen to her.) I was so glad to see the easy link Casey and Jess put up for the Haiti patterns – S. Lucky joined the list a few days ago, too. How could it not?
