more cake pops

After I made those reindeer pops for Xmess, I started thinking of other cake pops to put on sticks. Conveniently, my father-in-law’s birthday is at the end of January, so it gave me plenty of time to plan. I became obsessed with the idea of making a whole whack of heads that looked just like him, so I took a shot at it this past week.

For reals, I can’t stop laughing at how funny these are. I used peanut butter and candy melts with a few vanillas thrown in to get the skin colour sort of right. The hair and eyebrows are piped icing. The glasses are made from a tube of icing gel and the eyes are icing pearls.  They were finicky, but well worth the effort.

I think they look quite like him. In a cartoony, cake-on-a-stick way of course.

Next I think I’ll take a crack at making some yarn balls for Spa at the end of the month. Knitters like cake, right?

These are great! I don’t think an amateur baker could have achieved any greater realism. Also, yes. Knitters like cake. Very much so.

Those are great! I must say you crack me up!!! And yes. Knitters like cake. Especially on a stick. Notice I am trying to be sly and invite myself to your cake-on-a-stick SPA party 😉
