rounding up
I’m furiously trying to finish up the last of the stash to hit my April 30th deadline for Stashdown 2010 and I’m almost there. While I keep working on that, I thought I’d round up some of the fun stuff happening this week. Random Wednesday it is!
Amy (Stash, Knit, Repeat) has posted the 2nd installment of her Fit to Flatter series. I have already learned so much from these posts. If you have ever wondered about body shapes and what knits will work on who, she has some fantastic advice. This won’t be the last that I talk about it. (I say this not just because I took the photos, but because she really does know what looks good on who. But check it out, because ahem, I took the photos.)
In my studio I have giant pincushions on every surface. Two on my desk, one on the ironing board and another on my cutting board. My latest is this cutie-pants skunk from Enamor on etsy. I might replace the cushion innards with sand, but for now the fiber fill does the trick. Sweet!
The Husband (who is a music fiend – find him on 8Tracks here) linked me to this free Max Tannone album that has become my soundtrack for the last two weeks. Mos Def remixed all dub style? Brill. I cannot stop listening to it.
You may have heard about FlintKnits Pam’s puppy Crush who broke her wee leg last week.
Shepherd Susie of Juniper Moon farm has put together a great contest to help raise some bread to help cover Crush’s complicated surgery. For $6, you can purchase this sweet kids sweater pattern from Pam AND get entered to win a half share in Susie’s fibre CSA.
I’ve already bought my pattern and I bought one for my mum too. Get in there and get your own. It’s only $6! Cheaper than two beers at the pub. (Well, at least at our new local. In Texas beer was cheaper.) Once you’ve bought the pattern, hop on over to Susie’s blog and get entered in the draw.
(Crush and Willie photos are all copyright Flint Knits, 2010)

AAAAHHHHH! That pincushion! I’m going to Etsy RIGHT NOW to fave her shop.
& thanks for the Crushlove. xoxo.
The Fit to Flatter series is awesome (as are the photos!). And thanks for the tip on 8Tracks — what a fabulous site!
That’s an adorable sweater! And your website is awesome!
