I’m headed up to Freeport, Maine to go to SPA this weekend and just like the last two years, the weather is calling for snow. I’m good with one last big snowstorm and then I’ll officially be over winter. Bring on longer days! More light! Green things!
Until then, how about a healthy dose of spring flowers from the archives.

Do you know Thea from Babycocktails? I didn’t, until a few months ago. As it turns out though, I’d had one of her designs in my Ravelry queue for over 2 years. When I finally added her to my friends list, I had one of those DUH moments and wondered how it could have taken me so long to figure it out. (Side note: it cracks me up when someone who I see every week and emails and IM turns out not to be in my Rav friends. How does …

This Spring, Stitchy McYarnpants and I asked a few of our pals to help contribute to a big secret project we have on the go. The response has been tremendous. When we asked Amy of Stash, Knit, Repeat to play, she blushed at first and shyly asked, “me? really?” But after knocking out her first secret project for us, it was like a big switch had been flipped. First the gorgeous February Fitted Pullover and now, Arm Candy.
I’m pretty sure Amy didn’t ask me to take the photos for this …

I’m beyond honoured that a few of my designer-type friends have enlisted me to take pattern photos for their self-published releases. Super fun. I find it REALLY hard to keep the secrets when I’m working on the photos, but it just means that when I’m done, I’m that much more excited about them.
Since I’m working on some secret knitting at the moment, no better time to share some of the pictures from a few of these shoots.

Now with less camping.
The Boston Common Cod Fiber Guild put on a conference of sorts this weekend. Technically an un-conference, which means that the participants are also the session leaders. Pretty cool way to do it. Bascially, if you wanted to see something, you posted it on the wiki. If you were willing to teach or lead a panel, you posted it on the wiki. Once there was interest shown, a schedule was made up and off we went.
The weekend was kicked off with a presentation from Julia of Twist …

If you’ve seen the new Twist Collective that went up mid-November, then you might have noticed one of the secret projects I’ve been working on. I was honoured to do the photography for the Faneuil Hall editorial in this latest issue. (My first professional shoot where I was the photographer!)
I really love what Twist Collective is doing with their releases. I think that they’ve made some great choices for styling and presentation. Having worked behind the scenes, I can assure you that none of the sweaters are pinned or taped …

I was one of the lucky first few to snag one of Adrian’s Fiddlehead kits two years ago. Since then it’s been sitting in my stash, still in the box. Every now and then I’d open it, pet it, loving fold the tissue back over it and put it away.
There was a mini-run on Fiddlehead WIPs on flickr over the weekend so I jumped in, wound it up and cast on. I’m into the third colour on the first mitten now.
